Are you having a rubbish Mental Health week? Try this.

We all have weeks where nothing seems to be going right for us, getting out of bed is a struggle and motivation eludes us. Here are some of the tools and actions I have been taking when I have these moments.

Give these a go for just 2 weeks and see if things improve.

  1. Switch off from social media - Delete the apps for a while and reach out to your peers for genuine face-to-face conversations. Real social connection works. Plus, you can’t start social comparing. People don’t post the bad sh!t.

  2. Go bush - Find time to get amongst nature. I am fortunate enough to live near a bush in the middle of suburbia, I have never come away from a bush walk feeling worse than when I went in.

  3. Stop consuming the news - The media’s job is literally to create drama and get a reaction from you because that is what sells. Don’t buy into it if you are already feeling pants!

  4. Practice gratuity - Remind yourself of all the great stuff going on in your life, like having food, water and shelter, and always remember, you are someone’s reason to smile.
