Stop building ladders up the wrong walls.
Have you ever felt like you are drifting through life, unsure of what your ‘Nirvana’ looks or feels like?
You could be building a ladder up the wrong wall.
‘Live life with purpose”
I get it. It’s very easy to say, and nigh impossible to implement when you have bills to pay, relationships to work on, parenting commitments. The list goes on.
Life always gets in the way.
But what if it was really as simple as choosing your path and going for it.
I’m giving this a go as we speak, and this is what I have learned so far.
Discovering your purpose is a deeply personal journey that requires introspection and self-awareness. It involves asking yourself fundamental questions about what truly matters to you, what brings you joy, and how you want to contribute to the world.
Your purpose is unique to you, shaped by your values, passions, and experiences.
You need to look outside of societal expectations. Don’t be a people pleaser. Society does not give a shit if you are keeping up with the Joneses, so no need to please them.
Be authentic and true to yourself.
Living with purpose means aligning your actions and choices with a deeper, intrinsic meaning. It can also help to accelerate you to where you want to be, quite simply, if it doesn’t align, consider saying no? Use your purpose to truly navigate your way to where you actually want to be.
How do you know which wall to build that ladder up?
This is probably the hardest part, truly defining where you want to go.
The default is to wish for more. More money, More toys, more houses. But this isn’t a purpose, this is what society has you believing will bring you joy.
It won’t and it doesn’t. Not to say that following your purpose won’t allow these things, but I have met hundreds of unhappy, wealthy people in my life who are not following a purpose.
In the international best selling book “Top five regrets of the dying”, the number one regret…
”I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me”
So, how do you find your purpose?
Consider what activities make you lose track of time or what challenges you're willing to face despite the obstacles.
Reflect on the impact you want to have on the lives of others or the causes you believe in.
Your purpose may evolve over time, influenced by your growth and changing perspectives, but the process of self-discovery is an essential part of the journey.
Why climb the wall in the first place?
Increased Fulfilment: When you live with purpose, every action becomes a meaningful step toward a larger goal. This sense of fulfilment transcends momentary pleasures, providing a deeper, long-lasting satisfaction derived from contributing to something greater than yourself.

Purpose provides a sense of resilience that keeps you focused on your long-term vision.
Improved Mental and Emotional Well-being: Numerous studies have linked a sense of purpose to improved mental and emotional well-being. Living with purpose can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, fostering a positive mindset that contributes to overall mental health.

This enhanced focus not only increases productivity but also ensures that your efforts are directed toward meaningful outcomes. Get where you want, quicker!
