Getting the basics right.

Getting the basics right

Having worked in health for the last ten years, I’ve seen plenty of trends come and go. But the basics still reign true.

While fasting, cleansing, supplementation, IV treatment, medications etc can all be beneficial, I would consider them one-percenters!

Don’t overcomplicate sh!t, do the basics well, even if for only 80% of the time.

Eat for fuel, not for fun, and reduce your sugar intake

Move… often. This doesn’t mean you need to do 58 HITT training sessions a week. A bush walk will boost your endorphin levels and provide great exercise

Hydrate till you pee clear.

Mediate. We put so much focus on the ‘hardware’ and neglect our ‘software’. Your subconscious is responsible for 95% of your decisions, so doesn’t it make sense to work on that part? Meditation could be as simple as sitting in silence for 5 minutes and accepting what ‘bubbles’ up.

Get adequate sleep. Note the point ‘adequate’, you can still have 8 hours of rubbish sleep! I have some tips for a better nights sleep here.

Small incremental basics, pieced together consistently will do wonders for your mood, energy and overall wellbeing.
